It may be that they recognize my friend and gush over her because I remember a few MAC counter visits where I felt snubbed. I've had them pull out an entire album that was very ingredient specific and list benefits of certain ingredients in detail to me. I don't go to MAC, but instead with a friend to MAC Pro. I go in the stores and really focus on ingredients.and this is where Sephora trips up and even the most helpful staff member seems undertrained.
I love Kat's products, but a dry gal seeking a full coverage foundation with a natural finish isn't going to want 'Lock it' for example simply because the staff member is over the moon about it. Often, I get a really delightful staff member that knows the product lines, but they seem to be perplexed if I inquire about my own needs verses what they love. I don't like the hard sell that Sephora sometimes does.
